The Presentation championship

Championship: Rs 1000

We give the topic, you present your ideas.
Topic: Students for Change

Rules:

1. Maximum 3 members per team. Individual participants are allowed.
2. Elims: Elevator pitch- This will be a 100 sec pitch for your idea without any aids. This round will be held in case of a large number of participants.
3. Final: A presentation is to be made using any aids necessary ranging from PowerPoint presentations to any props that the participant finds the need for. Props will have to be brought by the participants. A computer, projector and black board will be made available by us.
4. Duration: Maximum 15 minutes.

INNOVATE & CREATE

Participants will be given a wide and generalized task (e.g. Ways to reach college faster).
They will then have to design a solution, which can either be an indigenous design or a modification to the already existing ones. The design may be as simple as adding a screw to a machine. No credit for complexity.

Team Size: A maximum of 6 people per team. Students only

Procedure:
Eliminations:
Online, the best 10 designs will be chosen based on the blueprints submitted.
Judgement Criteria – Points will be awarded based on five criteria of Innovation: Uniqueness, Usefulness, Simplicity, Efficiency and Marketability.
Finals:
Two rounds-
1) Presentation: Submission of the working model along with a presentation to the judges. (Video ads, PowerPoint presentations, print ads etc)
2) Face to face: Cross questioning by the panel of judges.
(participants are advised to have a good idea of marketing)

Announcement of the task: 22nd February, 2008.
Last date for registration: 29th February, 2008.
Last date for submission of blueprint: 2nd March 2008
(Blueprint can be a rough sketch along with a description, in the following formats: jpeg, AutoCAD -(more than 1 if a 3D perspective is reqd.), google sketchup.
